The Lifeguard position is a part-time position in the Aquatics Department and reports directly to the Aquatics Safety Coordinator. In the absence of the Aquatics Supervisor, direction may also come from the Aquatics Management team or the Shift Lead. The primary responsibility of the Lifeguard is to maintain a safe, enjoyable environment in the competition pool, waterpark, and Lake Andrea.

A swimming skills test will be required at the time of the interview: American Red Cross lifeguard prerequisite test which includes a sequence of 150-yard swim, 2 minute tread, and then an addition 50-yard swim continuously, followed by a timed event sequence of swimming, diving 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object, and swimming back to the starting point with the object in tow.

Applicants must be at least 15 years of age to be considered for this position.
