Police Officer - Lateral Entry
The Police Officer performs a variety of law enforcement and social services work that enhances the safety, security, civil order, and stable atmosphere of the community. Duties include but are not limited to security and crime prevention patrols; traffic control and traffic law enforcement; investigation and first aid at accident scenes; response to calls for service including rescues, crimes, and community service; and detection, investigation, apprehension, and arrest of people involved in crimes or misconduct.
- This position follows an eight-hour rotating schedule, consisting of five consecutive workdays followed by two days off, then five more workdays followed by three days off.
Qualifications:
The Village accepts lateral transfers that are currently employed full-time as a certified Law Enforcement Officer with a government recognized law enforcement agency. “Qualified law enforcement agencies” refers to municipal, county and state police agencies. Corrections, reserve officer, security officer, and federal officer experience does not fulfill the requirement for certified police experience as a lateral applicant. Qualified officers will be certified by the WI Law Enforcement Standards Board at the time of application or, in the case of an out of state applicant, have passed an equivalency exam as administered by the WI Law Enforcement Standards Board.
